Faith Moyosore Agboola, Founder and CEO of digital literary platform The African Writers, is one of the awardees of the 2020 Chevening Scholarship.

Agboola will receive a fully-funded bursary to study for an Msc in Creative Enterprise at the prestigious De Montfort University (DMU) Leicester.

The Chevening Scholarship annually offers fully-funded assistance to students from over 160 countries to study for postgraduate degrees in UK universities. The scholarship scheme is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and partner organisations.

Agboola hopes that her studies would present opportunities to “bond with talented and passionate global leaders” as well as “be equipped with everything [she] need[s] to develop The African Writers into the vision [she had] for it and more.”

She further shared a video on her YouTube Channel. Titled “My Chevening Story,” the video details the pitfalls of her earlier unsuccessful application, coupled with advice for aspiring applicants.

The Chevening Scholarship is currently open for applications for the 2020/2021 academic year. Applications run from September 3 to November 3. (Go here to find out more.)
