Ademola Enoch.

Early September, we announced the football essay contest organised by Goal.com Nigeria. We are elated to announce now that the contest has been won by a poet we published: Ademola Enoch.

Ademola Enoch is a graduate of Project Management from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. An alumnus of the Ake Fiction Workshop, his writing has appeared on  African Writer  and SynCityng. In May of this year, we published his poem “Monuments.”

Enoch won in the contest’s Category 1, for final year students and National Youth Service Corps members. His essay is titled “Digital Media: A Space Nigerian Football Must Fly Into.” He will receive N100,000 and a £500 #WritingGamesNG bursary for the University of Sussex MA in Creative and Critical Writing.

One of the finalists in Category 1 is Olawole Olayinka whose story, “Unquestioned Gifts,” we published last year. And in Category 2 is Emmanuel Esomnofu whose poem, “Chanting Fire,” we also published.

Congratulations to Ademola Enoch, Olawole Olayinka and Emmanuel Esomnofu.
