Book Buzz Foundation, the NGO behind the Ake Arts and Book Festival and the Kaduna Arts and Book Festival, is looking for a Logistics Manager for its projects. Founded by the novelist Lola Shoneyin, Book Buzz Foundation promotes literacy through reading initiatives for children, creating new reading spaces, and organising cultural festivals in Nigeria.
“We are looking for a hardworking Logistics Manager who will manage procurement, distribution, transportation and logistics for our various projects,” ran the call on the Ake Festival website. “These include the Ake Arts and Book Festival and Kaduna Book and Arts Festival. You will also be involved in the administrative part of project planning and will manage vendor relationships.”
Responsibilities
- Co-ordination of travel arrangements, ground transportation and shipments for the Book Buzz Foundation’s projects
- Procurement of souvenirs and Festival merchandise
- Handling the bidding and negotiation with Festival vendors and contractors
- Managing the Foundation’s asset database
- Creating budgets and proposals for Festival fundraising
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field
- Previous experience in a logistics management role
- Ability to use spreadsheet tools (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Attention to detail and an analytical mind
