Halloween is right around the corner and we have put together a list of 30 horror stories written by African authors in honor of the spooky season this year.

Featuring blood, gore, and the occasional ghosts and spirits, our list includes a wide range of short stories published between 2019 to 2021. These stories are guaranteed to make the reader feel scared to turn off the light for days!

This list was drawn up based on recommendations by the African Speculative Fiction Society (ASFS). We have included the author, title, date, and a link to the full electronic text.

Make sure to check out the stories below if you are looking for some extra thrill and goosebumps this spooky season!
