Egyptian children’s book author Aya Khalil has a sweet tale coming out in winter 2026 centered on community gathering during Ramadan. Titled Ramadan for Everyone: A Muslim Community Story, the children’s picture book will be illustrated by Rashin Kheiriyeh and published by Christy Ottaviano Books.
Khalil’s Ramadan for Everyone will explore the creative and plentiful ways an Arab father and his daughters celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. As children’s literature grows more diverse, we are grateful that authors like Khalil open the eyes of young children to Muslim traditions and forms of community gathering, which is a significant gap in children’s literature till date.
