The first Abuja International Poetry Festival (AIPFest) will be from November 14th-16th, 2024 both in-person in Abuja, Nigeria and virtually for all 3 days. The theme of this year’s festival is “Afro Futurism and Digital Culture” which focuses on African poetry and its connection to the digital revolution.

The events at AIPFest will range from master classes to poetry readings and panels featuring African poets. They are excited to end the festival with a Poetry Slam named after Efe Paul Azino, an important African performance poet.

The festival is curated by Nasara Creative, a literary agency in Abuja, Nigeria that organizes literary events by gathering poets and performers that celebrate culture. They are partnering with a few different cultural platforms like The African School of Economics and the Abuja Literary Society to understand “the interplay of poetry, intellectual property, digital economy and the future.”

The Abuja International Poetry Festival “promises to be a cultural mix and safe space for poets, dreamers, researchers and adventurers.” The festival’s opening and closing events will be held at The Exhbition Pavilion of the International Conference Centre, Garki, Abuja.
