Following the first edition of the Write With Style Workshop, the award-winning writer, critic, and journalist Oris Aigbokhaevbolo is hosting an expansive second edition on 24 and 25 November 2018.
Topics to be covered at the workshop include:
– How to write a good sentence
– Killing clichés in your writing
– Tips and tricks for good copy
– What is style?
– What is euphony?
– A special focus on the semicolon
– The basic tools needed to write film reviews, interviews, reportage, fiction, and creative nonfiction
– Who pays writers?
Oris Aigbokhaevbolo was named Entertainment Journalist of the Year at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards and is a two-time finalist for the Brittle Paper Awards. A writer-in-residence at the island of Sylt in Germany, his work as an editor has been awarded by the Felabration Organising Committee. His creative nonfiction, humour writing, journalism, and wide-ranging reviews have appeared in The Guardian UK, Catapult, and Chimurenga. He is currently West Africa Editor at Music In Africa, a Goethe Institut-supported platform.
