The sixth edition of the Lagos International Poetry Festival opened Saturday, October 3 and will run throughout the month.
The festival, themed ‘Love and Other Clichés’ will be held online for the very first time in accordance with the social distancing rules for the global pandemic. Hosted by Titilope Sonuga and Wana Udobang, it features an exciting array of guests ranging from poets to performers and industry-related professionals. The slated program include workshops, conversations and readings.
Among the over seventy guests in attendance are Chris Abani, Helon Habila, Inua Ellam, Petra Asantewa, Tsitsi Ella Jaji, Dike Chukwumerije, JJ Bola, Derek Owosu, Nkateko Masinga, Jumoke Verissimo, Vangile Gantsho, Aracelis Girmay, Nii Ayikwei Parkes, Terrance Hayes, Aja Monet, Ladan Osman, Bassey Ikpi, Bibi Bakare Yusuf and Gbenga Adesina.
