Thompson is known for her performances in the HBO series Westworld as well as the films Selma, Creed, Avengers:Endgame, and Sylvie’s Love, which she also executive produced.
According to Deadline, Thompson has just launched her own production company, Viva Maude, and acquired a two-year deal with HBO to executive produce two book adaptations: Okorafor’s Who Fears Death and The Secret Lives of Church Ladies by Deesha Philyaw.
Deadline also reports that George R.R. Martin remains an executive producer and that Aïda Mashaka Croal, who wrote for Jessica Jones, has joined the project as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
Fingers crossed the series rolls out soon!
