Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé’s YA thriller Ace of Spades came out 2 months ago, and it looks like it is doing much more than just okay. Àbíké-Íyímídé shared the news of the book’s success on Instagram in a lovely note to her readers, publisher, and her agent.

She’s had “thousands and thousands of readers” and “8 weeks on the New York Times and IndieBound Bestsellers Lists.” The book was featured “on the digital billboard in Times Square” and has appeared on several lists and bookclub picks.

She writes on Instagram:

This has truly been such a wonderful debut experience, thank you so much to everyone who has continued to support Ace of Spades. Ace of Spades has officially been out for 2 months!! ♠️

And so much has happened in that time…

Thousands and thousands of readers, a ridiculous launch cake (pictured above), a digital billboard in Times Square, 2 Starred Reviews, 8 weeks on the New York Times and IndieBound Bestsellers Lists, debuting at No. 2 on the UK Children’s & YA bestsellers list, an Indie Next Pick, Junior Library Guild Selection, A GMA Buzz Pick, A @barnesandnoble YA Bookclub Pick, @illumicrate Debut Book Box, Waterstones and Barnes & Noble Special Editions…

The list goes on

This has truly been such a wonderful debut experience, thank you so much to everyone who has continued to support Ace of Spades

And a massive thank you to my lovely agent Zoë and to everyone at Macmillan US and Usborne

Kudos to Àbíké-Íyímídé for hitting those milestones. Wishing her and the book more success!
