South African author Zukiswa Wanner stopped by Soma Nami books for a book club feature of her novel The Madams. The Nairobi bookstore is arguably Kenya’s hippest book store at the moment. [See our interview with the founders here]. It offers coffee, wine, and a rich collection of books.

It was the perfect place to host readers to an afternoon of book conversation and refreshments. Wanner’s book The Madams was published in 2006 and tells the story of Thandi, a South African woman who hires a white maid. From the photos, it is clear that a lot of fun was had chatting about the book over wine and coffee.
