Hey Brittle Paper fam! We wish a truly festive end-of-the-year to all our readers and artists! We are excited to announce the 12 Days of Brittle Paper Stories, a flash fiction competition exploring diverse African experiences having to do with the holiday season.

The best 12 entries will be published—one story a day—from December 13th to the 25th. The top three pieces will earn their writers $100 cash prize each!

Submit a holiday-inspired flash fiction between 500-1500 words. Please note that entries are not limited to Christmas and can explore any form of festive holiday experience and celebrations. Any form of wonder and awe about this end of year period can be used to inspire your work.

Submissions are now open and will close on 8 December, 2021.
