The London-based literary agency Peter Fraser + Dunlop (PFD) are currently accepting submissions for their inaugural queer fiction prize, which seeks to discover and support new talent from the LGBTQIA community.
To be eligible, entrants must identify as LGBTQIA+ and be unagented. Submissions, however, do not have to be about queer experiences, nor must the work be completed at the time of submitting.
The prize calls for new and emerging queer writers to submit a synopsis and up to three chapters of a novel (finished or in-progress) for a chance to get representation from PFD, which is regarded as one of London’s leading agencies.
The prize will be awarded in three categories: Adult Fiction Prize (Judged by Okechukwu Nzelu and agent Cara Lee Simpson), YA Fiction Prize, and Children’s Fiction Prize. The judges are E. Latimer and agents Silvia Molteni and Lucy Irvine.
To submit, send an email to [email protected] with the subject heading for the category you are entering along with the title of the book and your name.
Deadline: March 1st
The shortlists will be announced in May 2022 and the winners soon after in June.
