Last year, we brought news that the Nigerian novelist and filmmaker Biyi Bandele was set to direct a limited series for Netflix titled Blood Sisters. Filming and post-production have now been wrapped up, and we have a trailer to share with you.

Set in Lagos, Blood Sisters covers a series of catastrophic events that unfold after a young woman murders her abusive groom in self-defense on her wedding day, and her best friend decides to help her cover it up. The show features Ramsey Noah, Kate Henshaw, Uche Jombo, Nancy Isime, and Ini-Dima-Okojie. It is produced by Mo Abudu’s Ebony Life as part of a multi-film deal with the streaming giant.

The series comes out May 5 on Netflix.
