Greener Pastures painting by Ayomide Ogechi. Won 1st Place at The Green We Left Behind contest.

Winners have been announced for The Green We Left Behind Photographs/Visual Arts Contest.

The contest, which is an initiative of Arts Lounge and sponsored by the French Embassy and Brittle Paper, intends to “expand awareness and conversations on climate change.” Participants were required to upload their entries on social media. The works with the highest engagement (likes, comments, retweets) were selected in the longlist and shortlist, and now emerge winners.

The cash prize of N550,000 will be split among the winners in the ratio of 200,000 for first place, 150,000 for second place, 100,000 for third place, and 25,000 for four honorable mentions.

For fair representation of both photographers and visual artists, the judges have selected joint winners across the three prizes. Outstanding entries have also been recognized under honorary mentions.
