Nigerian-Canadian author Louisa Onomé is set to release her first children’s graphic novel titled Revenge Arc in fall 2025. The book will be illustrated by ONeillJones and published by Penguin Workshop, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

Although Onomé has written quite a few YA novels, this will be her first time penning a graphic novel so we are excited to see what she brings to the table. Revenge Arc was sold in a six-figure deal at auction to Penguin, so it is bound to be a hit with younger readers.

Onomé’s graphic novel features a group of teenage girls at a kickboxing gym who decide to get revenge on a boy who wronged them. However, things are more complicated than just throwing the first punch.

SURPRISE I’m writing a graphic novel with @oneilljones!!…This is a huge honour and honestly SUCH a fun project to be working on, so I’m really excited to share more about REVENGE ARC and the girls Mo, Yujin, Zuri, and Priya in the coming months (it’s out in 2025)! Louisa Onomé is a Nigerian-Canadian writer of YA and adult fiction and also works as a narrative designer in games. She holds a BA in professional writing and an MA in counseling psychology. She has published YA titles Like Home (2021), Twice as Perfect (2022), and The Melancholy of Summer (2023).

ONeillJones is a comic book artist and illustrator who has drawn for DC Comics, Marvel, Simon & Schuster, and more. Her debut graphic novel series Reject Squad will be published in 2024.
