Submissions are now open to the 2023 edition of the Ake Review, the annual journal of the Ake Arts and Book Festival.
The theme for the 10th edition of Ake Review is “Blood Ties“. You can submit either poetry, reflections, or artwork that responds to this theme.
The Ake Arts and Book Festival is a literary and artistic event held annually in Nigeria. It was founded in 2013 by Nigerian writer Lola Shoneyin. The festival has a dedicated magazine known as the Ake Review.
Submission Guidelines:
- Poetry – Submit a maximum of 3 poems.
- Reflections – Submit a maximum of 800 words.
- Artwork – Submit a maximum of 2 works in high-res jpg.
- Also, submit a bio of no longer than 70 words.
- Entries must be original and unpublished.
- One one submission allowed per person.
Successfully chosen applicants will receive 2 copies of Ake Review and a token fee.
All entries must be submitted via email to [email protected] as attachments with “AR Submission” in the subject line.
