Jacana Media is currently looking for submissions in a wide variety of genres. If you are a writer in search of a publisher, this is the perfect opportunity to share your literary talent.

Jacana Media is an independent South African publisher, producing books in the fields of the arts, natural history, lifestyle, fiction, South African history, current affairs, memoir and biography, children’s books and public health.

Whether it’s an idea for the next great South African novel, the children’s book every child needs to have, a must-read memoir, or a burgeoning political analysis, Jacana wants to read it.

This year, Jacana is considering submissions in the following genres:

Submissions are also open to Jacana’s new science fiction and fantasy imprint Mother. Mother launched in August 2023 with its first publication being Langabi: Season of Beasts.
