Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki, one of Africa’s leading science fiction and fantasy voices, needs your help to make it to WorldCon in Glasgow! While the African Speculative Fiction Society has provided some sponsorship, Ekpeki still needs additional funds for travel and visa expenses. He has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $3,000 to cover these costs. Go here to donate.

Ekpeki is one of about 11 African authors heading to Glasgow, including Nnedi Okorafor, Wole Talabi, T. L. Huchu, and Ehigbor Okosun. These authors will showcase the richness of African speculative fiction and connect with a global audience. Ekpeki is not just attending for the awards—he’s a finalist in two categories at the Nommo Awards—but also to engage with writers, editors, artists, and publishers from around the world. It’s a chance to celebrate African speculative fiction on the world stage.
