The dates are out! Starting next month, Gloria Edim will be on a book tour for her forthcoming memoir Gather Me, set to be published on October 29 by Random House. Pre-order here.

Edim is an author and culture curator of Nigerian descent. she is the founder of the Well-Read Black Girl (WRBG) platform, which started as a book club and has since grown into a nationwide movement celebrating Black women writers. Born to Nigerian immigrant parents and raised in Virginia, Edim’s love for books was a constant source of comfort during her challenging childhood. After her father moved back to Nigeria, Edim and her brother found solace in their local library. It was through books that she first discovered a community that reflected her own experiences.

In 2015, Edim launched the WRBG book club, which has since reached over half a million readers and expanded to host festivals and conversations with authors. Her work has provided a space for Black readers and writers to connect and celebrate the richness of Black literature.

Gather Me takes readers into the heart of how she built a remarkable life around books. She reflects on the books that shaped her life. From her early love of libraries to discovering Black authors such as Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, and Audre Lorde, Edim’s story is one of finding her voice and using it to create a platform for others. The book is a testament to the transformative power of literature.
