Clear your calendars between October 26 – November 3, because you don’t want to miss out on Afropolis in Onikan, Lagos. Featuring over 1,000 creatives, and expecting over 20,000 attendees, Afropolis is excited to host a vibrant nine-day event for creatives, dancers, athletes, or anyone who wants to enjoy African culture.

This is the 4th year of the cultural celebration, and boats even more events than ever before! There will be something for everybody from maker fairs, street food vendors, pop-up fashion stores, and chances to share culture through both music, dance, and fireside chats. For those who are interested in more professional aspects, there are master classes, labs, and endless networking opportunities. Though if you’re just in the mood to watch some football (Soccer for the American reader), watch film screenings, or just take in the rich urban cultural displays of the  Onikan neighborhood, there is an event for everybody.

The goal of Afropolis is to empower both African youth and the local economy through international recognition. They also hope to help the next generation develop their technological and creative abilities through the dozens of classes, professional talks, and opportunities that the gathering of people brings. Finally, they hope to revitalize the community, as the Onikan neighborhood has long since been a culture hub, making it the perfect spot for African cultures to come together.
