Maurice Sendak— “I don’t know how to write a children’s book.” Watch NEW VIDEO

“I do not believe that I’ve ever written a children’s book. I don’t know how to write a children’s book,” says one of the greatest children’s book artist that ever lived. Clearly, Maurice Sendak is just messing with us.  Anyway, watch this short video of Sendak—who passed away last month—reflecting on how his ordinary Brooklyn life resulted in some of the most bewildering and magical “children’s” books ever written.
