As part of its Horizons of the Humanities initiative, the University of California Humanities Research Institute (UCHRI) will be hosting a conversation on the futuristic and political featuring academics and writers. The event, themed “Out There: 5 Talkbits on War Futures in Outer Spaces,” will be “an intimate dialogue centered around questions of territoriality, violence, and belonging as they relate to discourses of outer space.”

The panelists are Brittle Paper founder Ainehi Edoro, Assistant Professor of Global Black Literatures at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Keith Spencer, author and editor at Salon; Camae Ayewa and Rasheedah Phillips, creators of Black Quantum Futurism; and Jamie Thomas, Assistant Professor at Swarthmore College.
