The second edition of Griots and Bards (GAB), a monthly village square of spoken word poetry, visual arts, music, and social conversations, was held on 20 December 2018, at The Thought Pyramid Art Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos. The event was curated by spoken word poet, writer and consultant Adebola Afolabi (REZthaPoet) and on-air personality and entrepreneur Temilolu Ogunmokun (ChocolateOnAir).

In an email to Brittle Paper, a GAB organiser Oriyomi Adebare stated that the edition’s theme, “Are Words Enough?,” was “an extension of the curatorial work of REZthaPoet at the recently concluded Iwaya Community Art Festival (ICAF).”

The event—a space to network, engage, and build communal, artistic and social relations—saw performances by the spoken word poets Archangel and Cephas Afolabi, the rapper William DLZ, and a pairing of REZthaPoet and the violinist Ibukun Oladipupo.
