In just a few days, the judges will announce the winner of the 2021 AKO Caine Prize for African Writing. Will the winner be Doreen Baingana, Meron Hadero, Rémy Ngamije, Troy Onyango, or Iryn Tushabe? The AKO Caine Prize for African Writing is delighted to invite you to a series of events, listed below, celebrating the 2021 shortlisted stories ahead of our virtual award ceremony where the winner will be announced on:

Monday, 26th of July
5pm BST

The celebratory series of events, spearheaded by this year’s Events Manager, Ms Sarah Ozo-Irabor, are taking place virtually, and where possible, in the countries of residence of the shortlisted writers.

Our series of events begins on Tuesday 13th of July until Monday 26th of July when the winner will be announced. Further information will follow in due course.
