The Shallow Tales Review is currently accepting submissions for its 34th issue. They are open to submissions of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and photography & art in any theme. Submissions will run from July 1 through July 20, 2021.

The Shallow Tales Review targets “stories that proclaim Africa’s rich cultural heritage, experience, and history.” While it is open to non-Africans as well, accepted entries are usually those that wholly engage the African continent. The magazine is interested in showcasing diversity, and encourages submissions from minorities, especially the LGBTQ community.

The Shallow Tales Review publishes six times a year in January, March, May, July, September, and November. Its 33rd issue, themed ‘loss’ featured 19 writers from across the continent.
