On September 28, Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka will be in conversation with Emma Dabiri in an event hosted at the Southbank in London. The hour-long event is centered on Soyinka’s new novel— his first work in nearly 50 years, which comes out the same day.

Titled Chronicles of the Happiest People on Earth, it tells the “story of a doctor and his college friend, Yoruba royal Duyole Pitan-Payne, Chronicles from the Land of the Happiest People on Earth is a dazzlingly brutal story of the nature of greed, power and the soul of a nation.”

The virtual event will be live-streamed from the Southbank Centre in partnership with Guardian Live. The book was released late last year in Nigeria by Bookraft. (see photos here). The US edition (Penguin Random House) and UK Edition (Bloomsbury) are set for a September 28th.
