FU Review is a literary journal based in Berlin, Germany. They are currently accepting submissions for their 10th issue on the theme of “Restoration.” Writers are welcome to submit works of fiction (up to 3,000 words), nonfiction, and poetry (up to 3 poems). English translations are welcome. There is no submission fee. Each accepted writer will be paid €20.

The forthcoming issue will feature previously unpublished writings by American writer and feminist Audre Lorde: Two letters from Audre Lorde to Dagmar Schultz (a former professor at the Freie Universitat in Berlin) and Lorde’s handwritten edits to the poem “Restoration: A Memorial – 9/18/91.”

Accepted submissions will be published alongside the letters and the poem by Audre Lorde. While it is not a requirement that submissions relate directly to Audre Lorde’s writings, authors are encouraged to keep in mind that Lorde’s life and work are the source of inspiration for the theme “restoration.”

According to their press release, FU Review is particularly interested in promoting perspectives that are traditionally underrepresented in Western/European/Anglo-American literature, including but not limited to individuals who identify as BI-POC, LGBTQIA+, women, nonbinary, differently abled, neurodivergent, those with migration and/or working-class backgrounds, those whose native language is not English, and those who live outside Europe and the United States.

Deadline: February 28.
