Sekyiamah and Grant started the podcast because they felt an extreme lack of sex education while growing up. They want to change this for young women, while providing older African women with the support and space to have frank, accessible, empowering conversations about sexuality. Driven by the lack of knowledge about sex for African women, they openly engage topics like kink, self-pleasure and aging while giving a space for African women to learn, teach and share.

Some of the podcast episodes include:

Sekyiamah’s and Grant’s efforts have led to a growing, diverse listenership and allowed for greater access to meaningful information, especially in communities where these conversations are difficult and taboo. The podcast has been greatly impactful as making sexual experiences and perspectives public knowledge has brought more visibility, tolerance, empathy and empowerment.

The Anthem Awards is hosted by the Webby Awards and celebrates impactful and mission-driven work from people, companies and organizations worldwide. The goal of these awards is to amplifying the voices that spark global change and inspire others to take action in their own communities.

Congrats to Sekyiamah and Grant on this much-deserved win!
