Argentine-American author-illustrator Mia Araujo is set to publish her very own illustrated novel titled Afia in the Land of Wonders in fall 2024. Published by Scholastic, the children’s fantasy is a West African-inspired reimagining of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and features Araujo’s stunning illustrations throughout.
The children’s book follows a 16-year-old protagonist who must make the difficult decision between staying isolated in her home with her beloved twin sister or journeying into a “magical yet dangerous land to discover who she is on her own.”
