British-Nigerian speculative fiction author Temi Oh is a writer on a Netflix show! The show is a dark fantasy animated series called Castlevania: Nocturne and is streaming right now, so definitely watch it when you get a chance.
As a stand-alone sequel to the Castlevania animated series, Castlevania: Nocturne is based on the video game series of the same name by Konami. The series is created by Clive Bradley and produced by Kevin Kolde, and premiered on September 28 with eight episodes in its first season.
Set in 1792 during the French Revolution, the show focuses on Richter Belmont, a descendant of the Belmont vampire-hunting clan, his adoptive sister Maria Renard, and the dhampir (half-vampire and half-human) Alucard. To prevent an apocalypse during the French Revolution, Belmont joins forces with a crew of hunters and magicians.
The speculative elements of the show sound right up Oh’s alley and we are thrilled that she has gotten the opportunity to be a writer on this popular TV show!
Oh announced the news on Instagram with joy and excitement:
Our show is on Netflix- RIGHT NOW! 🥳🥳🥳 Working on this series was one of the most fun writing experiences I’ve had! I felt so lucky to get to work with and learn from @clive.bradley.12 @itsntombizodwa and @testamenthomecut (whose music I’ve loved since I was a teen!).
