Sex and the City actress Kristin Davis was recently spotted reading Tomi Adeyemi’s YA fantasy Children of Blood and Bone. We are loving this meeting of two worlds!
Adeyemi posted a photo of Davis reading her book with a shocked expression on her face and wrote, “ok we’ve officially entered a new era.” This is indeed a new era as celebrities begin to read and enjoy Adeyemi’s award-winning trilogy!
Children of Blood and Bone won the 2018 Andre Norton Award for Young Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy, the 2019 Waterstones Book Prize, and the 2019 Hugo Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book. Adeyemi was named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2019 and was part of TIME 100 Most Influential People of 2020 in the “Pioneers” category.

Tomi Adeyemi is a Nigerian-American writer, best known for her award-winning novel Children of Blood and Bone, the first in the Legacy of Orïsha trilogy. Set in the land of Orisha ruled by a tyrannical king, the YA West African fantasy tells the story of the young Zélie Adebola as she attempts to restore magic to the kingdom and resist the monarchy.
