The Pfumo Collective is a new initiative launched by Ellah P. Wakatama OBE (Hon) FRSL, Dr. Billy Kahora, Niki Igbaroola, and Bukola Ankiyemi, aiming to address some of the major challenges of producing and disseminating nonfiction writing across the African continent.
The Pfumo Collective invites African writers to apply for its CITIZEN project, an opportunity to contribute to an anthology exploring the multifaceted concepts of citizenship and nationhood across the African continent. Selected writers will receive mentorship from leading figures like Ellah Wakatama and Billy Kahora, participate in a workshop in Accra, and receive a stipend to support their writing. The project culminates in the publication of an anthology featuring the selected pieces.
