Brittle Paper recently published our Palestine from Africa syllabus, exploring the long history and violent present of Israel’s war on Palestine. This syllabus is now available as a beautifully designed collection, and the Palestine from Africa Ebook is available to download and share!
The Palestine from Africa Ebook gathers the voices of writers, scholars, and artists, both African and Palestinian, who offer unique insights into the historical context, current realities, and political stakes of Israeli occupation. This collection of works highlights the shared experiences of oppression, colonialism, and struggle for liberation between South Africa and Palestine, examining historical and contemporary connections between these two regions.
The collection includes experiences of apartheid from South African author Zukiswa Wanner and Palestinian-South African author Haidar Eid, insight into the Afro-Palestinian community in Jerusalem, connections between the struggles for self-determination among Palestine and African countries, as well as literary and poetic responses, including from Brittle Paper contributors.
Now as an ebook, we hope these words can reach more audiences who are interested in learning about the historical and present connections between Africa and Palestine.
