The submissions period for manuscripts to Narrative Landscape Press (NLP) is open until March 31, 2025! The Nigeria-based press will acceptmanuscripts for fiction only.
This is the first of NLP’s two open submissions period. The second submissions period will start on September 1 and close on September 2.
Narrative Landscape Press was founded in 2016 by Anwuli Ojogwu and Eghosa Imasuen. They garnered attention in 2018 with the acquisition of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s books and since then have expanded their collection as well as their scope, with a new branch in Nairobi, Kenya. Among NLP’s publications are Caleb Azumah Nelson award-winning second novel Small Worlds (2023) and Uche Okonwo’s highly anticipated debut short story collection A Kind of Madness (forthcoming, March 2025).
See the submission guidelines from NLP below:
- To submit your work, send an email with the subject heading “Submissions [title of your
work]” and the following content to submissions@narrativelandscape.com - The body of the email is your query letter, introducing you, telling us why you contacted us, and telling us about the work in question. A few words on why you are the best fit to write this work will also be worth looking at.
- A one-page synopsis of the work you are submitting as a Word Document attachment. Please include all major plot points in your synopsis, including spoilers. You can also say a few words about the theme of the work.
- A sample of the work in question as a Word Document attachment. This should be the first 3 chapters, or the first 50 pages, or the first 10,000 words, whichever is longer.
- Send your manuscript sample in double-spaced, indented no-space paragraphs, left-justified only, 12-point serif font (we prefer courier new) text on A4.
