Zimbabwean author and Booker Prize nominee Tsitsi Dangarembga visited the African Imaginary Library and shared her five favorite books.

Dangarembga praised Ben Okri’s The Famished Road as brilliant and commended the “wonderful twist at the end” of Novuyo Rosa Tshuma’s House of Stone. She described Chinua Achebe’s No Longer at Ease as “so relevant to our times” and called Brian Chikwava’s depiction of people fleeing Zimbabwe’s disintegration brilliant. She concluded with Nobel Prize winner Abdulrazak Gurnah’s Afterlives.
