Quramo Publishing is now accepting submissions for the 10th edition of the Quramo Writers’ Prize! Unpublished Nigerian and African writers are invited to submit their fiction prose manuscripts for consideration until May 31, 2026.

QWP is open to writers who are nationals of any African country with at least one parent who is African by birth or nationality, whether residing on the continent or abroad. The winner receives a cash prize and a publishing deal. Shortlisted writers receive manuscript feedback, publishing deal consideration, and creative writing workshops. Longlisted writers receive creative writing masterclasses and other prizes.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Eligibility: Open to unpublished writers aged 18 and above. Self-published, independently published, or electronically published authors are not eligible. Short story collections, plays, and poetry are not eligible.
  2. Manuscript Format: Submit a complete manuscript of at least 50,000 words in Microsoft Word. Format in Times New Roman, 12pt, double-spaced, left-justified, with page numbers on each page. Include a one-page synopsis and do not include identifying information on the pages of the manuscript.
  3. Submission Process: Complete the submission form here. Manuscripts must not have been entered into any other competitions running concurrently. Prior QWP entries are also ineligible.
