It is managed by three publishers: UK-based Fitzcarraldo Editions, Australia-based Giramondo and US-based New Directions.

The winner is awarded $10,000 in the form of an advance against royalties and simultaneous publication of the winning novel in the UK and Ireland by Fitzcarraldo Editions, in Australia and New Zealand by Giramondo, and in North America by New Directions.

The judges will be looking for novels that expand the possibilities of the novel form and that are innovative and imaginative in style.
