The Royal African Society (RAS), a UK-based organization known for hosting the biennial literary festival Africa Writes, is hiring.

They are looking for a Programme Manager for their new project “Poetry in the Primary Classroom.” The program is run in partnership with the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE).

 We are looking for a dynamic, innovative Programme Manager who is committed to enhancing cultural representation in the curriculum and improving educational outcomes for children. The Programme Manager will have responsibility for the delivery of the Poetry in the Primary Classroom project, which offers primary school teachers a rich professional development programme to enhance their enjoyment of, and practice with, poetry from Africa and the diaspora.

The position is a fixed term, 16-month role related to this specific project, with the possibility of expansion. Applicants must be based in London.
