Nadifa Mohamed’s forthcoming novel The Fortune Men tells the true story of Mahmood Mattan, a British Somali wrongfully convicted and hanged for the brutal murder of a shopkeeper in 1950s Cardiff.
With the May 27th publication date almost here, the book’s trailer, which Mohamed has been teasing for a while, is out. In the trailer, passages from the book are read over soft music and stunning visuals. Mohamed co-stars with Amir Mohamed and co-directs with Abdi Cadani. The voice-over and music are by Aar Maanta.
