It’s more good news for Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé! Her YA thriller Ace of Spades, which has enjoyed remarkable success since its publication, securing wide readership, topping bestseller lists, and appearing on award listings, will now be available in over nine languages, thanks to an acquisition of its translation rights by several foreign publishers.

Àbíké expressed delight on Instagram, noting that having her work appear in multiple languages had always been a dream for her.

Described as an “utterly compelling,” story and a case of “Gossip Girl meets Get Out,” Ace of Spades follows two students Chiamaka and Devon, recently appointed prefects at the elite Niveus Academy who must work actively and closely to stop an anonymous troll with secrets that could totally upend their lives and set goals. It was published in 2021 by Feiwel & Friends, to rave reviews. In less than four months after publication, it received over 20,000 ratings on Goodreads. In addition, it was nominated for a Goodreads Choice Award.
