Nigerian-American Africanfuturist author Nnedi Okorafor recently wrote a LEGO book about dragons, which also comes with a unique LEGO set to build your very own dragon. Released on November 9, the book is titled The Legend of Aido Hwedo and comes in the LEGO pack named The Fantastic Tales of Dragons.

Through this box, you can discover legendary dragon tales from around the world and build your own LEGO dragon. When a curious young dragon questions his confidence, he is taken on a journey of discovery to learn all about his dragon ancestors who changed the world. It includes writing by Helen H. Wu, Renata Piatkowska, Naibe Reynoso and Nnedi Okorafor.

The pack includes 85 LEGO bricks to build a dragon, along with the tales of Yinglong from China (written by Wu), the Wawel Dragon from Poland (written by Piatkowska), Quetzalcoatl from Central America (written by Reynoso), and Aido-Hwedo from West Africa (written by Okorafor). Each story is re-told by an author who is local to the legend’s region, and accompanied by beautiful illustrations. The dynamic linking story that ties these myths together explores friendship and self-acceptance.

Okorafor announced the news on Twitter, claiming that she had a lot of fun building her own dragon as well:

We love that Okorafor took the time out of her busy writing schedule to do something so fun and innovative. This book/pack is definitely a must-have for all the LEGO lovers out there!
