London-based organization Rewrite recently wrapped up their retreat in Thailand!
Founded by Congolese-British writer Christina Fonthes in 2018, Rewrite is global community dedicated to empowering Black women and women of color writers. Rewrite offers mentorship, writing courses, a supportive membership platform, and annual retreats for writers to unplug and focus on their craft. The organization tends to host two writing retreats every year, with previous retreats hosted in Costa Rica.
This most recent retreat, based in Phuket, Thailand, included daily yoga, meditation, & wellness sessions, trips to an elephant sanctuary and local night market, a sunset boat ride, and plenty of relaxing beach days. The main focus of the retreat was of course spending time writing alongside a supporting community of fellow women of color writers.
The next retreat will go to Bali, Indonesia, Oct 5 – Oct 12, 2025 with prices ranging from £2,199 to £2,880. You can find more information about the retreat and book your spot here.
The Bali trip will be Rewrite’s final retreat! Founder Christina Fonthes plans to be busy in the foreseeable future with the release of her debut novel Where You Go, I Will Go forthcoming from Tinder Press.
The attendees seem to have a great experience on the Thai retreat! See some testimonials below:
