Trust & Travel will host a five-day immersive writing experience this October in Paraty, Brazil!

The Brazil retreat promises to help writers reconnect with their craft while experiencing the stunning landscapes and rich culture of Brazil’s Costa Verde. Set in an intimate eco-luxury retreat among the Atlantic Forest between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

What makes this retreat particularly special is its stellar lineup of guest teachers. The workshops will be led by Jade Moyano alongside acclaimed authors Yrsa Daley-Ward and Taiye Selasi, bringing together three powerful voices in contemporary literature.Yrsa Daley-Ward, author-poet of mixed Jamaican and Nigerian heritage, is known for her spellbinding performances and genre-defying work. Taiye Selasi, the West African author of the New York Times bestseller Ghana Must Go, sparked the Afropolitan movement with her seminal essay “Bye-Bye, Babar.”

The writing workshops will explore personal essay deep dives, poetry and prose in fiction, and explorations in empathy, offering opportunities for both creative and professional development across genres.

The Brazil retreat will take place October 4-9, 2025. The package includes five nights of accommodations, all meals, writing workshops, daily movement and yoga sessions, group transfers, and excursions. You can find more information about the retreat here.

As one past participant shared: “I think I will look back on this trip in years to come and be able to point to this as what changed the trajectory of my writing life.”
