Tampered Press has opened submissions for its ninth issue, drawing inspiration from the narrative structure of 1990s Ghanaian films that rarely ended in one instalment. The magazine invites writers and artists to create work that exists comfortably within a continuum of memory, embracing the possibility of return and the uncertainty of perpetual unfolding. Tampered Press seeks writing that moves with time, reflecting what once was while anticipating what comes next.

The journal accepts submissions across five categories: Poetry (2-4 poems), Fiction (maximum 4,000 words), Non-fiction (maximum 4,000 words), Comics (4-page limit), and Visual Art (low-resolution images, with higher resolution requested upon acceptance). All written submissions should be submitted in a single file in .docx or .pdf format. Work must be previously unpublished, including on personal blogs, websites, and social media platforms. Simultaneous submissions are permitted but must be noted in the cover letter, which should also include a brief author bio.

Tampered is a literary and arts journal that publishes work with 75% Ghanaian authorship and 25% from Africans and people of African descent. The journal continues its commitment to platforming voices from the continent and diaspora, centering narratives that challenge conventional storytelling and explore innovative approaches to form and content.

The submission deadline is February 2, 2026. Writers and artists can submit their work through the Tampered Press submissions portal. For further inquiries, contributors can contact the editorial team at [email protected]. Selected work will be published in the ninth issue of Tampered.
