Writers Space Africa (WSA) Magazine, one of Africa’s longest-running literary publications, now in its 114th edition, is open for submissions for its June 2026 issue. The theme is The Unemployed, and the window closes on 20 April 2026. That’s a tight turnaround, so if you have something to send, now is the time.

The magazine accepts work across five categories: short stories, flash fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and children’s literature (up to 700 words, with illustrations welcome and poems not exceeding 24 lines). Submit to one category only, include your title and category, and make sure your work has been carefully edited before you send it. All selected and unselected authors will be notified by May 2026, and the issue goes live on 1 June.

WSA has been publishing African writers since 2017 and distributes to a global audience. Authors retain their copyright. Read the full submission instruction here. Submit through the portal here.
