Writers Space Africa (WSA) magazine is accepting submissions for its 112th edition (April 2026) under the theme “Déjà vu.” The submission window opened on January 20 and will close on February 15, 2026. The magazine invites African writers to explore themes of repetition, memory, cyclical experiences, and the sensation of reliving moments through creative work across multiple genres.
WSA accepts submissions in five categories: Creative Non-Fiction (maximum 1,200 words), Children’s Literature (maximum 700 words with optional illustrations and poems not exceeding 24 lines), Flash Fiction (maximum 300 words), Poetry (one poem, maximum 24 lines), and Short Stories (maximum 1,500 words). Writers must submit to one category only and include both the title and category in their submission. All work should be edited before submission.
The magazine’s editors will respond to all writers—both selected and unselected—by March 2026. Selected entries will be published in the April 2026 edition, which will be released on April 1, 2026 on the Writers Space Africa website. All published works will remain available on the website after the magazine’s release, with authors retaining full copyright to their work.
Writers should submit their work through the WSA submission portal at www.writersspace.net/submissions. Submissions sent via email will not be accepted. In case of technical issues with the portal, writers can contact [email protected] or WhatsApp +254 702 447045 to report the problem, but should not send their submissions through these channels. Writers Space Africa continues its commitment to platforming diverse African voices and providing publishing opportunities for emerging and established writers across the continent.
