If you are a book lover who talks about what you’re reading online, this one is for you.
Catapult Book Group (the independent publishing collective behind three of the most adventurous literary imprints in the US, Catapult, Counterpoint Press, and Soft Skull Press) is accepting applications for its 2026 Partner Program, and they want bookish voices from across the internet to join. The program is essentially a pipeline between the publisher and social media reviewers: sign up, receive quarterly emails about upcoming titles, request the books you want, and share your thoughts with your audience. Early access to some of the most anticipated literary releases of the year, before they hit shelves. It’s a pretty good deal.
The mechanics are straightforward. Once accepted, partners receive quarterly emails with information about new and forthcoming titles across all three imprints, along with a form to request the books they’d like to review. Catapult can’t guarantee every request will be fulfilled, but they try to fulfil as many as possible, and notably, they give priority to Own Voices reviewers. Where you post your reviews is entirely up to you: your main social platform, Amazon, Goodreads, or Netgalley are all welcome, though none are strictly required. If you miss a quarterly request window, you can always reach out directly via DM or email to request titles.
To be eligible, you must be based in the United States and have at least 2,000 followers on your primary social media account. Beyond that, the application is flexible: basic contact information and your social handle are required, but you’re encouraged to share more about yourself and your reading interests to help the team match you with the right books. If you’ve been part of the program before, Catapult asks that you reapply, especially if your details or interests have changed. And if you’re not quite at the 2,000-follower threshold yet, the form stays open year-round, so you can always come back when you’re ready.
For readers of Brittle Paper, this is worth paying attention to. Catapult and its imprints have a strong track record of publishing literary fiction and nonfiction that centers diverse and global voices, the kind of books we care about deeply. Counterpoint has published writers like Alain Mabanckou; Catapult’s list regularly features writers from across the African diaspora and the Global South. Getting in early on titles from these imprints, and helping shape the conversation around them before publication, is exactly the kind of platform work that amplifies the books that deserve the most attention.
