Narrative Landscape Press EA has acquired East and West African rights to Salt in the Snow by Sahra Noor, welcoming the Somali-American writer into its growing catalogue of authentic African stories.

Announced on September 1, 2026, the deal brings a deeply personal memoir to readers across the region — one that moves between the sunlit courtyards of Mogadishu and the icy streets of Minneapolis. In Salt in the Snow, Noor traces her path from a close-knit, multigenerational Somali household to building a life in the United States as a teenager, reckoning along the way with the traditions, expectations, and relationships that shaped her. Migration, motherhood, belonging, and the enduring pull of a father’s love all run through the narrative, alongside the larger question of what it means to build a life across cultures and on one’s own terms.

At its core, the memoir is a meditation on home: what gets inherited, what gets carried, what gets left behind, and what gets found when someone begins again. Narrative Landscape Press describes it as a book for anyone who has ever existed between worlds, between generations, or between versions of themselves, written, they note, with quiet resilience and profound tenderness.
