The 2021 AKO Caine Prize season is well underway. Since the announcement of the shortlist, there has been a number of events celebrating the shortlistees and short stories with audiences. Here is the line up of events taking place in the next couple of weeks leading up to the announcement of the winner on the 26th of this month.

Join Dr Alma-Nalisha Cele and Letlhogonolo Mokgoroane, the South-Africa based founders of the much loved literary platform, The Cheeky Natives, in an insightful and incisive conversation with the 2021 AKO Caine Prize finalist.

IRYN TUSHABE IN CONVERSATION WITH TREVOR HERRIOT AT PENNY UNIVERSITY BOOKSTORE

Canadian novelist Trevor Herriot will chair this conversation with Iryn Tushabe in which they discuss her AKO Caine Prize shortlisted story, ‘A Separation’ at the iconic Penny University Bookstore in Saskatchewan, Canada.

THE AKO CAINE PRIZE FINALISTS WILL BE IN CONVERSATION WITH CHAIR DR IDA HADJIVAYANIS, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SOAS UNIVERSITY

On Thursday 22nd July at 7pm BST

The discussion will revolve around the many ways in which new (digitised) media is democratising the production, accessibility, and consumption of literatures by writers on the African Continent and the Diaspora.
